87th Annual Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Ceremony
- Held Thursday January 26, 2012. Tickets available at the Chamber by calling 229-246-4774. Don't miss this memorable and very fun evening which awards our community leaders and is a great recap of the work of the Chamber from the previous year.
- Awards Presented include the Post Searchlight Peace Officer of the Year, Kiwanis Club Man of the Year, the Pilot Club Woman of the Year, Academic and Goal Award winners from Bainbridge College, Community Service Award, Chamber Ambassador of the Year Award, and the 2011 Small Business of the Year.

Rose Festival and Parade
- Location: Thomasville, GA
- Date: Fourth week in April

Mayhaw Festival
- Location: Colquitt, GA

RIVER TOWN DAYS
- Location: Bainbridge, GA at the Earle May Boat Basin

Bikefest Week

Pumpkin Festival

Trick or Treating Downtown

Decatur County Fall Festival & Fair

Holiday Open House

The Friday night concert is free to the public and the Saturday events include activities for all ages: kids rides and activities, exhibits, a river raft race, the Great River Rummage.

Bainbridge and Decatur County are proud to be hosting the annual River Town Days festival again this year. This is a time for families to come together and enjoy themselves. There are plenty of activities for all ages to choose from, so come have fun!
Below are some photos of the activities that were part of last year's festival. Please click on any of the images to view enlarged versions.
River Town Days will be located at the Earle May Boat Basin again this year and will be held on Mother's Day weekend. Some of the activities that are included this year are:
- Friday May 11th
- Great River Rummage - 11:00 to 6:00 (Setup begins at 10:00)
- Antique Car Show
- Concert - Begins at 6:30
- Saturday May 12th
- Great River Rummage - 7:00 to 3:00
- Kid's Activities begin at 9:00 a.m. with games, rides and exhibits featuring; pirate ship, trout fishing pond, pony rides, mechanical bull, rockwall, dragonfly ride, water bubble balls, bouncers, animal booths by the Tallahassee Museum and crafts by Stones and Home Depot.
- Kayak Race (in Boat Basin) - 10:00 a.m.
- Flint River Raft Race (in Boat Basin) - 11:00 a.m.
- Water Skiing Exhibition (in Flint River) - 12:00 p.m.
- Boat Parade (in Flint River) - 1:00 p.m.

Raft Race General Rules and Regulations & Safety Requirements

- All rafts must be homemade.
- No commercially manufactured hulls.
- No inner tubes.
- All rafts must be self-propelled, (i.e., poles, oars, paddlewheels, sails, etc.) or any combination thereof.
- Minimum size is 4' x 8' as measured at the waterline.
- The deck must measure at least 4' x 8' and be capable of supporting the weight of the crew.
- The use of exposed nails or screws below the deck line is prohibited.
- The deck must be securely fastened to the frame and the frame securely fastened to the hulls/flotation devices.
- Minimum size of crew is 3.
- Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- All raft members must have a Coast Guard approved life jacket in their possession. These jackets must be worn at all times during the race.
- All Captains will instruct himself and crew of whereabouts of stored (Coast Guard approved) life jackets aboard the raft AND all Captains will conduct "abandon
ship" drills with the crew (donning life jackets) before leaving dock!
- 13. Each raft must be equipped with one 50' length of 3/8 min. diameter tow line.
- Each raft must be equipped with a first aid kit.
- All members shall wear sneakers or other appropriate footwear.
- All sheet metal raw edges to be turned over and taped.
- All protruding long bolts to be sawed off, filed and taped.
- All entries to be inspected prior to launching and will be subject to disqualification at the discretion of the Committee.
